Consulting on Reaction and Resistance to Fire Testing

Case Study

Reaction and Resistance

Unique Designing meets Fire Requirements

Whilst undertaking a large scale fit-out contact on a prestigious hotel development the architects had required an array of finishing details to bring a level of opulence to the finished building. Such as the Eucalyptus laquaredpanelling to the ceilings with the new Ballroom, or the fabric panels to the walls in the same space.

Understandably the Fire Strategy required that the panels would meet a certain level, namely EN13501 Euro B and Building Control asked for evidence that the panels being installed could do just that.

That’s when we were called in to initially assess if the panels being installed could be classified as they were and if not what could they do about it.

A programme was put in place to create a scheme specific assessment that was evidenced through a combination of testing and classification, by European Classification bodies, that would ensure that the detail that the architect desired could meet the standards the fire officer required.
